The good thing about today’s fashion is that nothing is out of style, it is either vintage or current. One would need to work very hard in order to be completely out of fashion. Thus, whether one is fashionably conscious or not, every one’s style is trending.

This has led to, among other things, bridging some of the generation gap, at least when it comes to clothing. The former generation’s ‘it’ clothes have become our ‘it’ clothes now and our parents and/or grandparents are more than happy to lend some of the preserved ones to us, thus, bringing us closer.

Different generations have started experimenting more with styles and have realised that everything works. The term ‘out of style’ has gone out of style and the term ‘vintage’ has taken its place.

Therefore, today I decided to pay ode to one of the classic 70’s styles that has made a comeback – bell sleeves. I paired up a block printed olive green and blue bell sleeved crop top with a classic denim dungaree.

I added a pair of blue reflective Lennon glasses to add to the 70’s vibe and completed the look with a pair of tan ankle boots.

The thing about this look is that similar versions of it can easily be found in a lot of old fashion archives. In fact, if I told you that this top used to be my mother’s, you would easily believe it. However, I’m not saying it did.

This is a great time for fashion and for experimentation so I hope that I can bring myself to try out flared pants. Until then, I have my flared sleeves!
